As a large firm, we have expertise across a wide range of technical areas. In the sensor field, we have strong experience in chemical, biological and physical sensors as well as in signal processing. We have particular expertise in specialist technology areas such as carbon nanotechnology, microarrays and microfluidics, medical devices, chemical sensors, and electronic sensors. We have extensive experience working with University spin-out clients and SMEs so we are aware of the challenges facing this type of business and how we can best tailor our services to help address these.

MAIN PRODUCTS + SERVICES

We offer the full range of intellectual property services; including obtaining registered patents, trademarks, and industrial designs, advising about enforcement and infringement issues, handling opposition and appeal work at the European Patent Office, and portfolio management. 
We also have an in-house legal team with extensive experience handling and advising about IP transfers and licenses, R&D collaborations, entitlement questions, life sciences regulatory issues, and recording IP transactions worldwide. In addition, the team includes two Patent Agent litigators who are able to advise on all aspects of IP litigation in the UK as well as strategies for multi-jurisdictional disputes.

COLLABORATIONS SOUGHT

We are keen to work with any companies or Universities to identify opportunities for IP protection and to develop an IP strategy that is suited to the particular commercial need of the individual company. We have offices in Bristol, London, Cambridge and Manchester and welcome any enquiries from businesses local to these or we are happy to travel to meet clients across the UK.
